Meet the Founder

Dani, Founder & CEO
With Mood Mixers my hope is to offer a healthy, convenient way to have excellent nutrition on-the-go. My research into how food, and our relationships with it, affects our brain has drastically impacted my life and my dream is to share that knowledge with you. I want everyone who considers to welcome Mood Mixers into their routine to live a long, amazing life with a healthier body and a sharper mind. Cheers!
Let me tell you a little bit about myself...
My parents divorced when I was twelve so my teenage years were spent living with my mom. At times my mom had to work two jobs to make ends meet. I now realize how stressed and overwhelmed she must have been but people didn’t talk about these feelings back then - the stigma of mental health. I took to writing in a journal to help me get through that time. Thus began my journey into bettering my mental health.

As a real adult I started to take control of my own life and realized that what I ate affected how I felt. If I ate junk I felt like junk. If I ate healthier my whole demeanor got better. That got me interested in how what I ate influenced how my mind responded.
I got involved in the mental health therapy world and wondered if what people consumed could help their moods as well. So I started my journey in researching what foods benefit certain types of things people were going through. Even more interestingly, what combinations of healthy foods would not only taste good but give people a natural supplement to the therapy and, sometimes, drugs they were taking to ease conditions like depression, anxiety, insomnia, low energy and brain fog.

After doing some serious learning about how the gut and what’s put into it affects our moods—because the gut and brain really are connected—I created Mood Mixers. I learned how to dehydrate fruits and vegetables to give them a longer shelf life than their fresh counterparts and an easier way to carry them around. After many months of trying different healthy combinations of ingredients including nuts, spices, grains, seeds, cocoa and monkfruit to naturally sweeten the mixers, I packaged them to be a convenient (on the go) addition to combat any mood someone might need help with.
I’m hoping my research and my own journey can benefit others as well. This is why I developed Mood Mixers to help fight the stigma of mental health.
